Very few species of bat drink blood but I don't know what this planet's bats are like. That said, aside from potentially carrying diseases they are harmless and actually good for the environment.

I would be worried more about other creatures that might come out at dusk that are bigger and more hungry than a bat.

Lions are incredible! I saw them when I lived in Africa.
I've never seen a movie with lions though.

yeah the bats here might be a little more dangerous
they have to survive alongside dinosaurs
and all kinds of other monsters
but we'll be careful so it should be fine, won't it?

He did.
He dragged me all over the world to practically every continent, until political unrest had him launching me in a rocket to Mars.
At least this time, landing on a new planet wasn't a crash landing.

I only recently returned to Earth, before waking up here.

No, there are no aliens on Mars.

Humans haven't colonized the planet for very long, but it's livable. Outside of those who hold power and the royal family, the population is rather poor. It's cold and not much can really be grown on the planet.

Well, there was an ancient civilization on Mars once. Having uncovered their technology allowed humanity to colonize the planet.

I was. My father's research was surrounding their technology...but we know nothing of their civilization otherwise.

They could have also wiped themselves out as well.

Objectively it wasn't a very nice place to live, but there was someone I care about very much who I had the chance to see and be with.

After my father died I was eventually forced to live on a space station and in turn leave her side.

I had no choice.

Because I was born on Earth, I was discriminated against by those living on Mars. The only reason I was able to live on the planet was because of the influence my father's research had and the generosity of the Martian princess. Once he had passed the powers that be saw me as a nuisance to get rid of.
